
Dr. Myron B. Stachniw
Dr. Myron B Stachniw, better known as "Marty Stachniw", has practiced orthopedics in Galesburg after completing his residency in 1978. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle in 1969. Dr. Stachniw received his M.D. at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1973. Internship and orthopedic residency were completed at the University of Illinois in 1978. He also received a Master of Science degree in Orthopedics for his research in microvascular surgery.
He has enjoyed the practice of general orthopedics and over the last decade a special interest in primary joint replacement. He has done clinical trials for several prosthesis companies and contributed to the design of hip and knee instrumentation systems. He has participated in several phase III and phase IV clinical trials of orthopedic related pharmaceuticals as principal investigator.
Dr. Stachniw has four children of whom he is very proud, two daughters who are students, a daughter who is a recent college graduate and a son who is an officer in the military. His interests include outdoor activities, big game hunting, camping, flying, computers and reading.
